Back Pain
A closer look at your symptoms can help clarify the next step.
Understanding your concern.
Back pain may be felt as aching, stiffness, or sharper discomfort. It can start after an injury or develop over time, and more than one factor may contribute. The location and severity of pain alone do not establish its cause. An evaluation brings together your history, examination, and relevant records.
Make everyday life part of the conversation.
Tell your provider how symptoms affect your day: sitting at a desk, driving, bending, lifting, or sleeping. Note when the pain began and whether it travels into a leg. Your account helps focus the evaluation on both symptoms and everyday function.
Discuss the appropriate options.
Depending on the findings, your provider may discuss chiropractic care, rehabilitation, medical evaluation, or another appropriate approach. Spinal traction is considered only for selected situations after assessment. The plan should reflect the cause of your symptoms and your health history.
