CONDITIONS & INJURIES

Knee Pain & Injuries

Put the focus on movement and the cause of your concern.

Understanding your concern.

Knee pain, swelling, or movement limitations may follow an injury or develop gradually. Different structures and conditions can contribute, so an evaluation is needed before deciding which care fits. Your provider can review how symptoms began and whether further testing or referral should be considered.

Make everyday life part of the conversation.

Describe what happens during walking, stair use, standing, or other activities. Mention swelling, a sense of instability, or changes in movement, and share relevant imaging or surgery history. Explain the activities you would like to approach more comfortably.

Discuss the appropriate options.

Following an evaluation, your provider can discuss appropriate rehabilitation, medical care, or specialist referral. A rehabilitation plan may focus on movement and everyday function when suitable. The appropriate approach depends on the findings rather than the symptom label alone.

Ask a qualified clinician about new, worsening, or injury-related symptoms. This information does not replace a medical evaluation.
